Design Cartoon Bar Fight's Official Logo!

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: July 1, 2012

EMAIL SUBMISSIONS TO: cartoonbarfight@yahoo.com

DETAILS: We desperately need an official logo. Something really simple but unique and really memorable that sets the mood for our tunes— something we can proudly plaster everywhere (including on our drum head) as we prepare for an album release tour at the end of the summer.

If you have time to do this, feel free to submit any logo you come up with that you think reflects us. We will compile the submissions and have anonymous voting on our band facebook!

I was thinking it might be cool to have a logo designed around the themes in our song “A Flower in Space.” Envision like a glowing moon or planet with a single flower growing out of it. Cool?

Otherwise, some recurring themes in our music include: dreams, childhood, outer space, death, flowers, and the environment. Woo!

Logo may or may not include our band name!

RSVP if you feel interested and we’ll seriously love you forever. Whoever we pick will get art credit on our website and inside our album, free CBF albums for life, and a $30 giftcard to the local record store of your choice. All other submissions will be proudly displayed on our website, too, so no hard feelin’s. :)

Weee thanks!

The Sound of Her Voice | A Compilation by RadioActiveSJ

The digital release for this rad compilation is now available here! Features twenty female fronted local Bay Area bands, including Girl Named T, The Wild Reeds, Survival Guide, Loquat, The SHE’s, Doe Eye, Kiwi Time, and so many more that we love.

All proceeds go to InnVision—a shelter in the South Bay that promotes self-sufficiency to those who are struggling with homelessness.

The incredible album art is a beautiful piece called “Sounds of Nature” by Terry Fan

Lastly! Our brand new recording of “The Valley” is track number four. Hope you like it.

Our show with Adira Shark, The High Sea and The Ghost of Wrights last night at The Blue Lagoon in Santa Cruz was freaaaking brilliant. So glad to know all the people in those bands. Went home with happy bubbles in my heart.

I think we’re gonna try to bring this same lineup of bands to San Jose for a show this Summer. Prepare for endless joy!

NEED SINGERS: Group vocals on CBF's recording of "Dear Victoria"

Date: Saturday, May 5th, 2012

Time: 3 PM

Location: Will send via facebook message or email

We’re in the midst of recording our first full-length album and we need singers this Saturday!

We will have a chorus of “gang vocals” at the end of our song “Dear Victoria,” which means we need a group of people to come over and record a simple part.

Everyone (including us) will sing at once into two room mics. The song has kind of a dark, drunk sea-shanty feel to it. No need to be a seasoned singer. (Though I know many of you are amazing!)

We will teach you the part on the spot, which should take like five minutes, so no preparation required.

Will supply drinks and stuff, and your names will be added to the album notes!

RSVP to the facebook event here.

Please vote for us -- The Deli SF Artist of the Month Poll

Another happy day for us! We were just nominated by The Deli Magazine in San Francisco to become their next “Artist of the Month.”

This would be incredible exposure for us, on a very respectable, very large indie music blog.

Can you find it in your ♥ to support us again like you did last month for the Save Alternative radio poll? In case you hadn’t heard, we won that! Thanks to you!

INSTRUCTIONS:

-Visit: http://sf.thedelimagazine.com/

-Locate the poll in the upper right corner of the home page.

-Click vote and show us some love. Done!

Vote as soon as you can—voting ends March 31st! Congrats to the other bands who are in the running, too.

S*ALT Radio poll is ending soon -- we need your help!

Tumblrs, if you’re reading this, we need your help!

As a recap, we’re in the running to become a Save Alternative featured artist, but the poll is ending very soon and we need your vote for our track “Fairy Tale.” It takes literally one second to vote—no sign-ups or anything. Check out the other three bands too. They’re swell!
